TANO is proud to announce a partnership that offers Texas nonprofits substantial savings on state unemployment insurance taxes. 

As a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, you have the option to self-insure and reimburse the state dollar-for-dollar for actual unemployment benefits paid. For-profit organizations do not have this option. With this method you are no longer subsidizing the costs of other employers’ layoffs, and you are not paying extra funds you will never receive back. You’ll be able to allocate the funds you save back to your program and other expenses.

TANO has done due diligence in finding the best unemployment services provider and has elected First Nonprofit Companies. First Nonprofit Companies (FNC) has been offering an unemployment savings plan to nonprofits since 1993. Over 1,000 nonprofits have saved thousands of dollars by utilizing FNC programs and support services. 

While FNC offers the chance for any nonprofit to save on their unemployment taxes, TANO members are entitled to special pricing consideration to participate in all unemployment products and programs. TANO members enrolling in the LLC will receive a 20% discount on program enrollment fees reducing the cost from $11.25 per FTE to $9. The one-time enrollment fee is capped at $1125 resulting in TANO members paying no more than $900. Additionally, TANO members will be entitled to special fee or premium refund options based on favorable experience in all of our unemployment insurance products (Bonded Service Program, Excess Loss Insurance Policy, State Mandated Unemployment Insurance Bond)

FNC has agreed to individually assess your organization to let you know if and how much money they are likely to save you. To receive this assessment, contact TANO (info@tano.org or 972-839-9960) to request a ‘Free Evaluation’ form. However, you must hurry. The state of Texas only allows open enrollment until November 30, after that you will not be eligible for this product until 2009.
