Leadership is a process that involves the interaction between the leader, the followers, and the situation. This advanced workshop will explore leadership from these three perspectives using both academic theories and proven workplace maxims to help explain and predict what makes a leader effective. Emphasis is placed on the central importance of ethical leadership in organizations. By the end of this workshop, you will have a better understanding of: 1. Dr. Loescher is a Lecturer in the Management Department of the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin where she teaches management, leadership, and business communications. She has her doctorate in business administration from Nova Southeastern University, specializing in human resources management. Prior to her career in academia, she earned an MPH from the University of Michigan and worked in the healthcare industry for 15 years in the areas of quality assurance, utilization management, and clinical research. Her academic publications focus on ethical education, organizational ethics, change management, and diversity management. Dr. Loescher is also a co-author of the book, Communication Matters: Write, Speak, Succeed, published by Kendall Hunt in 2007.
